Description: The original painting was created prior to 1983 and is on masonite that is cut out into the shape of a bear skin. The painting depicts the Five Nations as iron links in a strong chain of power - each link identifies the names of each Nation in Mohawk. There are smaller insets from other paintings that Louis did namely, the Flute Player and Indians in the bushes looking at the tall skyscrapers of New York City. In the bottom center, is depicted the headdress of a Rotiyaner (chief).
