Title: Danny Takes On The Army Created: 1991 Description: Painting was 24 X 24 inches and depicts a man named Danny Phillips from Kahnawake who my uncle admired because he was not afraid to face the army with nothing more than his fists. This painting shows Danny taking a swing at several Canadian army personnel during the 1990 crisis in Kahnawake in support of the problems happening in Kahnestake. Ironically, Danny died on 5/24/93 and my uncle offered this painting to be displayed at his funeral. After the funeral, he made a gift of the painting to his family.
